She was sentenced to 96 hours in jail, and put on probation. If she gets caught doing something similar in the near future, Nicole Richie could get up to year in prison. Ouch. Hopefully, this will serve as wake-up call and she won’t end up like The Simple Life pal Paris Hilton. She recently spent weeks in jail because she violated her probation and drove with a suspended license.
While it came up with Paris Hilton that the sentence may have been a little excessive and she was unfairly made an example of, no one was speculating along the same lines with Nicole Richie. The one expert interviewed by ET in the video below said that it the 96 hours was pretty normal in such cases.

She had such a smooth and sexy voice on the air even Howard Stern took a note of it. With the new look, she was definitely a force to recon with. Why she had to take things too far may always remain a mystery.
