Here I posted the lyrics and the video to Rihanna’s “Shut Up And Drive.” The video is pretty cool featuring some mean rides including a red Ferrari in the begining and some classic wheels. The girls posing as mechanics aren’t bad either.

Rihanna is a singer and performer from Barbados. Her full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty. She was born on February 20, 1988. Rihanna is currently living in San Diego, California.

Rihanna was born in Saint Michael, Barbados. She is the eldest child to father Ronald Fenty and mother Monica Fenty. She has 2 brothers, both younger, named Rorrey and Rajad. Rihanna attended school in Barbados. In the year of 2004, she won the Miss Combermere Beauty Pageant. At 15, Rihanna got her break when one of her better friends helped her meet music producer Evan Rogers, who happened tp be in Barbados. He agreed to record demos with her that were sent around to recording companies. One copy of Rihanna’s demos was sent to Jay-Z and he signed her to Def Jam Records. Rihanna had said that Alicia Keys, Beyoncé Knowles had major influence over her style as well as her Caribbean background.

Rihanna’s Debut Album: Music of the Sun

Rihanna’s debut album Music of the Sun was released in August of 2005. The singles from this album are “Pon de Replay”, released in October in 2005 and reached position #2 in both the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, the UK Singles Chart due to considerable airplay. The song was written by Carl Sturken and Evan Rogers alongside Rihanna herself and was described by Rolling Stone magazine as a “poppy piece of dance hall reggae with slapping, syncopated beats recalling big-band jazz.” However, the album itself failed to reach the same level of success. It sold over 2 million units. Rihanna toured with the album as the opening act for Gwen Stefani.

The second single on the same album was “If It’s Lovin’ That You Want”, was less successful landing the #36 spot on the U.S Billboard Hot 100 and position #11 in the UK. A third single, “Let Me”, was only released in Japan. It became a big hit there reaching #8 on the charts.

Rihanna’s Second Album: A Girl Like Me

She released her second album in 2006, less than 8 months after the release of her debut album. The album started out in the number five position in the U.S. and number four in the UK. The lead single, “SOS”, was used in a endorsement deal with Nike. The song became Rihanna’s first no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. “SOS” peaked at number one in Australia and number two in the UK. The second single on this album, called “Unfaithful”, was written by R&B singer Ne-Yo. The song became a top ten hit in the U.S. and in the UK. The other two singles form the CD are “We Ride”, a modest success, and “Break It Off” featuring Sean Paul, which had climbed to number 45 on the Billboard Hot 100 based solely on airplay. Later on, it was released as a digital download in February of 2007, that made the song jump from number 52 to number 10 and it peaked at number 9.

Rihanna made her first acting appearance in a cameo role in Bring It On: All or Nothing in 2006. She also appeared on an episode of the daytime soap opera called All My Children and TV drama Las Vegas.

Rihanna’s Third Album: Good Girl Gone Bad

Rihanna returned to the studio in early 2007 with Ne-Yo, Stargate, and Timbaland among others. The album was released in June of 2007. The first single on the CD is called “Umbrella”, featuring Jay-Z. It reached the number one position on the charts in a lot of countries including the U.S. It was the longest running #1 single in a long time. Rihanna’s second single, “Shut Up and Drive”, was sent to radio stations on June 5 the same year, has so far peaked at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Rihanna worked with Timbaland on 3 songs on this album. Justin Timberlake co-wrote and provides background vocals on the song titled “Rehab.” Less than seven weeks after the album was released, it had reached gold status in the United States and platinum stats son the United World Albums Chart.
