Early life

Denise Richards was born in Downers Grove, Illinois to Joni Richards (mother), a coffee shop owner, and Irv Richards (father), a telephone engineer. There is one other sibling, a sister and her name is Michelle. Richards graduated from El Camino High School in 1989, located in Oceanside, California. She was part of the cheerleader team.

Career

Before becoming an actress, Denise Richards was a model. Richards spent the main part of the ’90s taking part in lower-budget films and TV shows like Saved by the Bell, television movies, and guest starring in episodes of some other shows. Denise’s first starring role in a major motion picture was Starship Troopers in ‘97, which was followed by a role in the somewhat successful cult movie Wild Things in ‘98. Richards next appeared as Dr. Christmas Jones in the James Bond film The World Is Not Enough (’99), which did well at the box office. In addition to her work in the movies, Richards has made regular appearances in the sitcoms such as Spin City, Two and a Half Men, Friends and Seinfeld. Denise Richards also starred in the short-lived UPN series Sex, Love & Secrets in ‘05. Throughout the early part of the new millennium, Richards appeared in several movie roles banking on her role as a sex symbol, including Valentine, Undercover Brother and Scary Movie 3. In December 2004, she posed for Playboy magazine. In 1999, she ranked number 9 in Maxim Magazine’s 50 Sexiest Women; and in 2001 she same in number 2 in FHM’s USA 100 Sexiest Women, number 5 in FHM 100 Sexiest Women and number 19 in AskMen.com 50 Most Beautiful Women.

Personal life

In 2002, she married actor Charlie Sheen. They appeared in Scary Movie 3 together. Denise Richards played his character’s dying wife. The couple have two kids together (both girls): Sam J, who was born on March ninth, in 2004, and Lola Rose, who was born on June first, in 2005. Richards was named the Sexiest Mom by In Touch Weekly magazine in the Year of 2005.

In March of 2005, Denise Richards filed for divorce from husband Charlie Sheen. The couple briefly got back together again and were seeking marriage counseling to mend their marriage. However, on January 4th, 2006, Richards’ representative announced that she was going ahead with the divorce after all, and she later sought a restraining order against Sheen. She said he used death threats against her.

Denise Richards claimed in her filing for divorce that her husband was physically and verbally abusive and threatened repeatedly to kill her or have her killed. Richards also said that Sheen had become increasingly paranoid and obsessive. Among his issues were 9/11 conspiracy theories, a belief that baby formula could caused brain damage, and a “morbid fascination” with Nicole Simpson’s death (the deceased wife of O.J. Simpson).

Denise Richards in addition claimed that Sheen visited hookers and was addicted to gambling, prescription drugs (purchased through the Internet), and porno. This served the basis for her filing for a restraining order against Sheen.[6] Charlie Sheen denied the allegations.

Laptop paparazzi incident

In late 2006, police was called to the River Rock Casino in Richmond, B.C., where Denise Richards was shooting a movie at the time. After noticing some paparazzi taking her picture from a nearby balcony, she try to confront them, grabbed one of their laptops and tossed it over the balcony. The laptop ended up landing near two old women, one 91 years old and the other 89 years old and in a wheelchair. The 89-year-old woman suffered some injuries which included mild bruising. Neither pressed charges against Denise Richards.
