Cheap Broadband Is also Available in the U.K.

I remember that the Internet was already all the rage here in the US, but it took a little bit longer to catch on in Europe. Somehow, Americans grew accustomed to and comfortable with spending their money online a lot faster than our cousins across the pond. I believe that we still spend more on products and services here in the US than they do in Europe.

If I am not mistaken, I also heard that bandwidth was also lagging behind a little bit for a while. I know a bunch of people I went to college with whom were from the U.K. and they returned there after they completed their degree. Even a few years ago when I graduated, they were saying that there was a considerable difference in the way the two countries approached the issue of the Internet and especially broadband. A lot of companies have sprung up recently that offer high-speed Internet in the U.K., but I am told that one stands out when it comes to broadband services. They are called the BT Group (this wasn’t confirmed or denied by my friends, but I am assuming that BT stands for British Telecom).

Not just that but they have freebies bundled with the deal to make it sweeter such as a free hub. I am not sure about the conversion rate between the dollar and the British pound these days (and I am not sure if I want to know, ’cause I am sure it is horrible), but the prices sound frailly reasonable. So, if you live in the U.K. and BT’s service is available in your area, I would definitely give it a closer look.
