If your blog has been around for a while, and caries at least a little weight with the search engines, there is another way to make some money. Before I go into what this avenue is exactly, let me tell you about the recent developments in the search engine arena. Links are important to search engines. SEOs like myself are in the business of getting links to websites they like to rank high in the results for a certain search term. So we trade links and we buy links. The problem is that search engines are smart (And by search engines, I mean “a search engine” which is Google. The rest of them are routinely years behind this one.) They are in the business of keeping the search results “organic”. What that entails is that they want to keep the manipulating of the search results to the minimum. They look for patterns of behavior of search engine marketers and they ‘plug’ that hole in the next update of the algorithm - the rules that tell the search engine what pages are the most relevant for a given search term. Recently, Google eliminated the value of the links in blog post comments. It used to be that it was a great way to have some great links pointing back at your site. Not anymore.
So, the job of the an SEO (search engine optimizer) is to stay ahead of the curve. The best links are still links that are placed in the content of a page. People do this all the time, this is how the word is spread across the Internet. This brings us to the great way to blog for money. People will pay you money to write an article about their product or service, or even anything at all as long as you have a link to their website with the right anchor text. One of the great places to go is Smorty.com. They are an online market place that helps advertisers and blogger hook up.
How much can you make this way? That will depend on the quality of your blog. For example, how old your blog is, what the Google PageRank of the home page is or that of the oldest post, and how many visitors you get according to the Alexa rating of the website. Smorty has the following rules: the blog must be at least 3 months old, must have a history of at least of 2 posts per week, cannot contain illegal stuff, cannot have excessive duplicate content and must be indexed by Yahoo and Google. You can make about $5-$6 per post with a blog like that. If you have a blog that carries a lot of weight with the search engines, then the earnings per post can be in the hundreds.
The cool thing is that you still get to display Google pay per click ads in the post.

I think depends how much money is decent to you. To some making $2,000 to $3,000 a month is good, but to some is too small due to their high standard way of living. Other factor is its on the type of website. How much traffic the site gets?
